the economic development direction. From some of the discussion on this site I
would say that there needs to be a healthy discussion about what economic
development takes the form of. The Downtown Master Plan does a good job in this
area. One of the basic tenants of this plan is that for each $1 that we invest
in various forms of infrastructure, private investment will add $7 over time.
This not only provides jobs but is the foundation of a deeper and stronger tax
base. I am looking forward to working with you all.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
