I agree -- losing the license should be a worse punishment -- except that it
appears that not having a license doesn't keep our repeat offenders off the
road.

With regards to Dave's proposal, I'm trying to remember back to my days in
Driver's Education.  I recall being told that as a condition of having a
license I'm give consent to be tested for intoxication if required.  If I
refuse, than I forfeit the right to have a license for 6 months.  Is that
correct?

 

If so, I think the $300 is by far a lesser punishment than having to get by
without a license for 6 months!  Just a little food for thought.
