[MissoulaGov] Goals for Council

Russ,
I completely agree with you on collaboration between the University
and the city. Internships provide much needed experience and grounding
for soon-to-be graduates and other students seeking to confirm their
field of study.
Conversely, given their access (generally speaking) to the newest
research, methods, and ideas in a given discipline, students can bring
fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to an organization - whether
the city, county, neighborhood groups, private businesses, or
nonprofits.
Without my own internships and student jobs during my undergraduate
education at UM, I don't think I would be nearly as prepared for the
job market as I am today.
