Here's a preview of some of the items coming up on the council schedule.
This week we'll hear a request for a phasing amendment to the millsite;
We'll get an update on the upcoming OPG workplan and prior year
workload; We'll also consider interim zoning on an orchard homes parcel
called the Gables. This subdivision came in to the city without zoning.
The developer has indicated he would like to extend his plat which
expires in a couple of weeks but he has also floated ideas of abandoning
the plat and putting in mini storage units on the riverfront parcel.
His attorney, Mr. McCormick has also notified us that they do not
believe the chapter in our zoning code that lays out rules for unzoned
parcels is valid. Next week we will have our initial discussion on the
zoning rewrite.
In A&F over the next couple of weeks we will finish up the CIP and start
discussing the idea of parks and streets maintenance districts.
In Public Works we will see the long awaited Phillips street traffic
calming project come forward. We will also discuss the crossing at CS
Porter and speed limits in a number of locations.
We will finish our days with two hour Budget committee sessions to start
working through the FY2010 budget.
Some other items on the PAZ horizon:
We will bring in a guy from Bozeman to speak to us about their transfer
of development rights program.
We'll have a speaker from the National Trust for Historic Places and
consider the Historic Preservation Ordinance.
We'll have the downtown master plan come back from planning board.
And we'll spend a whole bunch of time this summer on the zoning code.
