Well, a lot of happenings in our little berg.

First, I'd like to comment on cell phone use while driving. It's very obvious that drivers on cells are concentrating on other things than driving. How did we ever function without them? Or are we just showing those around us that we are so important and popular that we can't bother with 'those others'? It's dangerous for other drivers, peds, bikers, and wildlife. And have you noticed those using cells tend to weight that gas pedal a little more than is needed?

On another topic - I walk everyday to hike 'with' my dog on our open space hills, either H2Oworks or Jumbo. Yep, once we get there we both enjoy being off leash. We enjoy fresh air, nature, less noise and like greeting the nice folks and dogs we meet. If we weren't able to take advantage of this close oppportunity to hike for mental and health wellness, I think both my dog and myself would turn into a lower Rattlesnake version of Mike on 11th Street.

And by the way, I know everyone has some neighbor(s) that make your neighborhood less than disirable. (Paul included). Whether it's college students that don't know anything about garbage containment or that neighbor that loves to have their back yard full of junk vehicles. I've got a 50+ old jobless neighbor that lives off her aging mother and just brought in yet another off the street, no-job boyfriend. He in turn brought in his 20 yr old registered sex offender cousin that now resides in a junk 60's RV in the alley. Nice.

There will always be something to make better in this town. Pick your battles and put your energy into it. I think I'll stick with open space. I don't want to be like Mike.
