Subject: Important Research Request

 

Hello fellow DEC leaders - my name is Kristie Pretti-Frontczak and I'm the
current president of Ohio's DEC. I am also faculty at Kent State University
involved in a critical research project designed to generate a consumer
rating of early childhood assessment measures.

 

I hope you don't mind me contacting you via e-mail but we are trying to get
the word out regarding what we believe to be a very important research
endeavor.

 

As you may know, Steve Bagnato, Jack Neisworth, and I are working on a 2nd
edition of the LINKing assessment and intervention text. 

 

A key aspect of the revision is a consumer rating of various early childhood
assessment measures. We have created an online survey
(http://ehhs.kent.edu/link) where users can rate up to 81 different measures
according to 8 recommended assessment practices standards.

 

The survey (per assessment) takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
We are asking that you take a minute between now and June 30th to rate
assessment measures you use or are very familiar with. 

 

Perhaps more importantly, we ask that you forward this request to
colleagues, students, family members, policy makers and other early
childhood personnel who are involved in assessing young children i.e.,
anyone who may be able to rate the quality of various assessments). 

 

Consumer responses will be aggregated and published in the 2nd edition of
the LINKing book to serve as an objective reference for all early childhood
providers in the selection and use of early childhood assessment measures.
