Action Alert from CEC
On Wednesday, March 29, the House Budget Committee will consider a
funding blueprint for federal programs including education, health and
labor – based on President Bush’s recommendations which slashes these
programs by $4.2 billion.
Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) will be offering an amendment to add
an additional $7 billion to education, health and labor programs. This
amendment is identical to an amendment offered by Senators Arlen
Specter (R-PA) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) earlier this month, which was
passed by the Senate. Now, as the House considers its budget guidelines
for fiscal year 2007, we urge all CEC members to contact their member
of Congress in support of the DeLauro amendment.
While we need everyone to alert their networks, we are specifically
targeting the following members of Congress:
- Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-25-Florida) - Miami, Naples area
- Rep. Connie Mack (R-14-Florida) - Fort Myers, Naples area
- Rep. Dan Lungren (R-3-California) - Gold River area
- Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-1-New Hampshire) - Manchester, Dover area
