Good afternoon. As you are probably aware, there has not been a lot of
movement on Capitol Hill regarding IDEA related issues lately. However,
on July 18th, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that has
jurisdiction over labor, health and education passed a funding bill
that level funds education programs for FY 2007. If this goes through,
there will be no increases in funding and the federal government's
contribution to IDEA would remain at 17.8%.

As of August 1st, Diana LaRocco at the University of Hartford will be
taking over the DEC Advocacy List. Stay tuned for updates from her.
And thanks to all of you who have contacted your elected officials to
advocate for children and families over the years that I have been
sending out updates.
