The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) is pleased to present another
technical assistance opportunity covering IDEA 2004 Regulations:
Implementation Guidance for Preschool Special Education.
PRESENTER: Sharon Walsh, DEC Governmental Relations Consultant, will provide
an analysis of these new regulations implementing IDEA 2004 and guidance on
how it may influence programs for families of preschoolers with special
needs.

content of the TA call, please include them on your registration form, in
the space provided (see attached PDF or MSWord document).
CONTENT: DEC is sponsoring another technical assistance conference call to
update participants on the changes made to the federal Part B, including
Section 619, regulations based on IDEA 2004. Participants will have an
opportunity to:
· Hear about the changes in regulations under IDEA 2004;
· Have their questions about these new regulations answered; and
· Discuss the implications of these new regulations on preschool
special education supports and services.*
Participants will have access to PowerPoint presentation summarizing the
critical aspects of the final Part B regulations as they relate to preschool
special education. Participants will also be given access to information
that allows them to playback an audio recording of the presentation.
Submit questions with your registration and also during the presentation via
email. Phone lines will open at the end of the presentation for live
questions.
DATE/TIME: January 10, 2007 11:00 a.m. EST (10:00 a.m. CST; 9:00 a.m. MST;
and 8:00 a.m. PST)
COST: FREE for DEC members! $20.00 for non-DEC members. All participants
(members and non-members) will be responsible for the cost of this
long-distance phone call.
TO REGISTER: Please complete the registration form on the following page and
fax to DEC by January 5, 2007.
MATERIALS: Information about how to access the presentation materials and
the conferencing line will be emailed to the registrant (at the email
address provided on the following page) on January 8, 2007.
* This presentation will be the same topic and format as the TA calls held
in September 2006 and will not address questions about specific
instructional techniques or local implementation. Part C will not be covered
on these calls, but future conference calls are planned when the Part C
regulations are finalized.
