Good afternoon. Last week, the House Budget Committee defeated the 
amendment offered by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) by a vote of 
22-17. This amendment would have increased funding for education, 
health and other programs by
$7 billion. The Committee passed its own version of the FY 07 budget 
resolution for education and health programs. This version drastically 
cuts funding for education. The full House is expected to consider the 
Committee's resolution this week. Thanks to all of you who contacted 
your representative in support of the DeLauro amendment. It would be 
helpful if you could again contact your Representative and encourage 
them to vote against the resolution passed by the Budget Committee. You
