Session: DEC Governmental Relations Committee and Children's Action
Network (CAN):
Brown Bag Lunch
Time: 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM
Room: Forum, Third Floor
Presenters: Diana LaRocco
Description: This session will combine a facilitated discussion of
state-level advocacy efforts and technical assistance for Children's
Action Network (CAN) Coordinators.
Special Note: Beverages will be served. The first five DEC subdivision
officers who email Diana LaRocco dlarocc at hartford.edu to confirm their
attendance at the CAN Brown Bag and attend the meeting will receive a
small prize.
Session: Advocacy and You: The Basics
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
Room: Salon III, Executive Tower
Presenters: Diana LaRocco and Deborah Bruns
Description: Practitioners are in a unique position to encourage change
on behalf of young children and their families. This interactive
session will provide participants with basic information about how to
advocate for a position or a cause that is important to them and to
express their views to elected officials.
